Who We Are

Principle Investigator
Greg O'Corry-Crowe, Ph.D
Greg wears many hats, but is primarily a biologist, specializing in marine mammals (even though he loves birds and bones!). His real passion involves crafting some sweet beats and belting out 'today's top hits' throughout the lab. When he isn't wrangling in the Arctic, he is cracking the metaphorical whip, because that's what you have to do when you have grad students and rogue technicians.

Lab Technician
Laura Lesyna, M.Sc.
Laura works with spatial analyses and the data entry of the lab. Her versatility allows her to help the lab in whatever it needs - be it from cartography to water filtration to drawing a new lab logo.

Lab Manager
Tatiana Ferrer, M.Sc.
Tatiana will methodically work through large numbers of samples, taking no prisoners and showing no mercy. Being a sketchy Spanish and Ukrainian mix makes her a bit unpredictable and previous training makes her deadly with a pipette.

Lab Technician
Jessica Carvalho, M.Sc.
Bioacoustician by day, whale whisperer by night, Jess is a true Jess of all trades. She studies the sounds of cetaceans along the Florida coast, using autonomous platforms to eavesdrop on the ocean and habitat modeling to better understand the movements of these magnificent animals.
